A literal "Deck Building" game

I thought of this today:

A game that is "deck-building" in theme only.
As in, maybe it is about 4 old guys that live around a retention pond having a good ole' manly competition to see who can build the most impressive redwood deck on the backside of their house. Perhaps some opportunity for pick up and deliver mechanics AND some dirty sabotage...

Oh and the whole idea is that it is titled simply "Deck Building."
A friend already suggested that the front of the box would have a bland medieval trading theme, but when you open it you get... 4 guys from Missouri wearing trucker hats?

Thoughts?

An online friend of mine had

An online friend of mine had talked about a deckbuilding game about building a deck. I don't know if there are posts on BGDF about it, but you could probably search and find out. I also don't know if he finished it, or is still working on it, or what.

I hope this doesn't turn into

I hope this doesn't turn into a trademark issue like "Tower Defense", where one company got to 'take over' a genre of games.

Seems Pretty Legit!

Of course the resources are wood and nails.

Galvanized Nails! Galvanized, Galvanized, GALVANIZED!

I'm seeing a potential for a set collection mechanic, You could make a deck out of lots of different kinds of wood, but really, it will look better if it's all one kind.

I play tested a

I play tested a "deckbuilding" deck building game about 3-4 months ago. Prior to that I was talking w/ the designer of it down at the GAMA trade show.

It's a fun idea...some one will get one out to market. (maybe).

God that is so horrible it flips around back to being AWESOME!

I would totally buy a game about guys racing to build a deck. Bonus points if it is a deckbuilding deck building game!

For some reason this game just makes me laugh uproariously. Although you could throw in some tool cards that give bonuses.
