What exactly do you mean by dice drafting? I looked at Troyes and Macao and don't understand what the mechanics restriction really pertains to. Any help with what "dice drafting" really is would be appreciated.
I was a little confused as well but I'll give you my take on it. Dice drafting involves some sort of pool of dice which one or more players may choose dice from to assign to different tasks. In Macao all players chose from the same pool of dice in order to collect resources while in Troyes each player chose from their own pool of dice in order to complete certain tasks. The core idea is that a group of dice are rolled and then assigned in some sort of strategic manner. I might be wrong in my assessment of the mechanic but that's my take on it.

That's pretty much it. Actually in Troyes you may 'draft' any die, but if you use an opponent's then you have to pay them money.
So in general, a pool of dice from which players take turns using one or some. In Macao my using dice doesn't preclude your using dice, but in Troyes it does (I remove them as I go) - so you have some freedom there.
