I've read the instructions on making your own boards and boxes kindly posted by SiskNY. http://www.bgdf.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2086
Now i'm ready to make my own, however i'm having trouble finding anywhere that sells the 2 - ply chipboard (also called pressboard or box-board) that was reccomended, i've tried a local craft shop but that had nothing, i've also searched on the internet but without luck. What search terms should i be using to produce suitable results?
What sort of companies would stock this? Should i be looking at cardboard wholesalers?
I'm in the UK by the way, so if anyone knows any good suppliers here either online or not please let me know.
Thanks.

This may be what you are looking for: Dick Blick Catalogue.

Thanks for the link, i think that would be suitable to make a game from (anyone experienced in this field have an opinion on it?) but as with all companies based in the states, i expect the shipping cost would be crippling and seriously dent my profit margins on each game.
I'd love to find a UK source though!

Sorry to wrestle this thread back to it's original subject matter.
But do you think it'd be best to concentrate my search (for chipboard/boxboard/pressboard) to Arts and Crafts shops? Or the internet?

This is where I have found all of my supplies. I can't imagine that there isn't an art supply store somewhere in the UK that has what you need. I did a quick search on google for art supply uk and got a good sized list. A promising one early on had a list of art supply links.

Best of luck to you, I didn't see anything on the web sites about chipboard or anything close to that, but it may be worth a call to them to ask a salesman about it (they may not list all their goods online).

You might also look for bookbinding stores. I sent a link to a couple of UK bookbinding sites in this thread. At least one of those places offer the sort of board you're looking for, or something similar.

If you google for 2-ply chipboard UK you might find some other places you might find useful. You'll also find some BGDF messages there, though. ;-)

Well, i've searched high and low for some chipboard of this thickness but i can't find anyone who sells the damn stuff.
The people i phoned during my enquiries reccomended a couple of alternatives, i was wondering if someone with experience could tell me if these would be suitable?

1)Greyboard
2)Plyboard

If not, are there any other materials i could use, (apart from 2 ply chipboard), to make the board and the box from?
