Hi, this is my first post in here (and also English is not my native language) & my first try on creating a game (card game).
The goal is to be a some-what fast game, simple rules but still interesting enough for casual (or non ) gamers.
Ok, so here's what I have so far.
I have a number of cards in a deck, each card has some random positioned dots on the both margins + a few special advantages once the card is played + a value of the card is printed (between 1-4 for example) for final scoring.
The goal is that a player can arrange a number of cards in a row (in front of him), but the each card has to match the previous dots, sort of connected. The cards can be rotated upside-down as well (this will keep a lower number of cards in the deck as well).
A player gets 5 cards in his hand from a common deck. He can place a card down in front of him by paying with the rest of the cards from his hand.
e.g: a card played in front worth 3 points, he must give 3 cards from his hand to the discard pile. ( he can place a new card in front of him just once in his turn).
Other things he can do is to replace older played cards with new ones if the dots match (could have a better value for example which will give him a final better score), play sabotage cards (lower a card's value).
About the cards advantages, a card played can give a bigger hand size, or have a lower "price" to but but worth more at the end.... stuff like that.
Some solo testing revealed that the game is quite blend and it's not much interaction between players (maybe cards should have some effects) and it's a bit too much luck involved (if a player doesn't have a card to match the dot's on the last card he pretty much looses a round).
Could anyone have an idea how to make it a bit more interesting than, take card play card - game over? :)
Thanks!
No, each player builds it's on chain of cards and try to score as much points as possible with the cards they get in their hand.
