So I was listening to the radio this morning there was a blurb about a local play about carrier pigeons. I probably won't go see that play but it did occur to me that a game themed about carrier pigeons during the civil war might make an interesting game. I'm not one for war themed games but I'm envisioning this game focusing on getting your carrier pigeons to fly across a battlefield without getting shot down to deliver messages. Feel free to pursue this one if it interests you.
Carrier Pigeons
I have a WIP game with that exact theme here in new ideas section (last week) and the updated thread at BGG.
However, its a hidden signal/bluff simultaneous play (no downtime) team game.

I like this concept.
If the pigeons are the focal characters it seems like it would be tough to justify having them shot down, though... might be too tragic.
I wonder if it could have a different thematic wrapper, like crazy carrier pigeon enthusiasts trying to prove their pigeons are the best.
No worries. Tempted to run with this idea, but I already have one bird-themed game in the works :]
I'll give a shout if I take a stab at gameplay.
In the UK in the 1970's there was a TV cartoon called stop the pigeon which had a group trying to catch a carrier pigeon (I don't think we are ever told why) using bizarre flying machines.
The Wiki entry is:

and the title sequence with theme tune is ...
Seems like cool take on this theme. Sorry I missed your post about it :)
