I've been working on a simple outlaw-hunting western card game, and I'm ready to start thinking about some serious self-publication. I'm faced with this question before I jump in with a grin... Do any of you think there's a market for a simple shoot-em-up stylistic western card game? Would you buy such a game? Do you think others would?
Here's a quick synopsis of the game:
You play for a character who has hit rough times, and must turn to another form of employment to continue living in the wild west. You take your dusty gun off the shelf, toss a few rounds into the cylinder, slap a hostler to your hip, and make your way to town in search of a job. There are jobs a plenty in town, and what do you find when you arrive? Damsels in distress, bankers that have been robbed, saloon fights, corrupt sheriffs and officials, cattle-thieving rustlers, and outlaws. What do you do? You hunt the criminals down... for a price.
There you go, replies are appreciated!
Is cattle herding wild west enough? Another one of my ideas is that you're trying to herd the largest amount of cattle to the city before the other players. Along the way, you will need to put up with shooting rustlers, outlaws, and staving off stampedes. Is this ideas wild enough for the West?
Or do you think people would want something more "Clint Eastwood"? A dueling game? A saloon-owning game? A sheriff game? A clean-up-the-town game?
