Hello all,

I've released last December my first game, Bagan Journey. It was quite an... adventure as you all know well :)

Printed 1000 copies, and released in Myanmar only.
(It's a game about travelling in one of the highlight spot of the country, Bagan.)
Sales are doing ok, through a small number of retail shops. I've sold 250 copies in 50 days.

I've kept 100 copies to try a Kisckstarter, to get experience, and with the idea that maybe some Burmese community in USA and some people who like odd games would be interested.

My problem i'm stuck at the fulfillment part. All fulfillment companies i've contacted turn me down at "100" copies. These copies are now in China.
Any advice or hint on how to make this KS a reality and be able to send to backers?

Thanks by advance!

My game for the curious among you:

Why Kickstarter? Kickstarter

Why Kickstarter?

Kickstarter is good for something where you need money up front to make the game, but you already have the game. So you're just paying KS 5% for very little back. You'd still have to do your own marketing, etc., because games with no marketing generally get no backers.

Something like a facebook ad might work for you. But I don't know how to solve your fulfillment issue.

My advice is...

Get the 100 games to be shipped to your home. From there offer shipping prices based on your location rather than a fulfillment warehouse. Yeah some places may charge more than say if you were shipping from a fulfillment warehouse... But at least this way it's not a roadblock.

Where are you located, BTW?

This doesn't sound like a good idea, if he is located in Myanmar. Then shipping each game to the US without a fulfillment service there is probably not an option.

Sell on AMAZON.COM (from anywhere in the world)

100 games is not a lot. You mean to say if he has a Kickstarter with a limit of 100 games... Well he can always find someone on Facebook groups looking to help by getting the inventory sent to someone's home in the USA and then haven them fulfill the backers from the USA, no?

I wasn't aware that he was "so far away" from the USA.

Maybe you could offer the product on AMAZON.COM. I just watched this "Ad video" where the guys says you can SELL from anywhere in the world through AMAZON.COM. All you need to do is get your product into one of the AMAZON.COM warehouses in the USA (there are quite a few) and then you can sell your product to US residents (actually North America) without any hassle.

I would forget KS and sell on AMAZON.COM DIRECTLY.

Why running a KS?

Good answer. It's probably the best way to go.

Thanks everybody for your

Thanks everybody for your time and answers!
I take good note of the Amazon Advice and will dig on that.

Here's some additional infos:

- Why Kickstarter?
To learn. I want to make a KS campaign for my next game, and managing a small one before will be a good learning tool.

Ship from your home?
- I'm based in Myanmar. So really far from the West, and with terrible prices for logistics due to the country being underdeveloped. Impossible to send from here, we're speaking of 60 USD to send an ENVELOPE here ;D.
That's why i left 100 games in China.

Cheers!

I know there are companies in

I know there are companies in Canada that do small-batch fulfillment (https://www.snakesandlattes.com/), so I assume there must be a few in the US somewhere...

And as noted, even Amazon itself is a possibility, since they do that sort of thing if you put your boxes in their warehouse ("multi-channel fulfillment")

Send From China

There's at least one company that does worldwide fulfilment direct from China (I think I had a Kickstarter reward via them a couple of years ago): http://www.sendfromchina.com/

No idea if they's suit your specific needs, but it may be worth investigating.
