How do they get around the law with selling them on the likes of Amazon etc. without getting in trouble?

Can you provide LINKs/URLs??? I looked on Amazon.ca and all I found was AUTHENTIC content sold by "Cards Against Humanity". I'd need to have a look to see if what you are saying is true. From my own search, I could NOT find any fake or unofficial card expansions for the game.

You've pretty much ANSWERED your own question!
None of those products are called "Cards Against Humanity". As such they are not using copyrighted name of the game... And therefore can exist and be sold without any ramifications.
I'd throw in my own variant "Cards Against Mankind"!
I think this too would seem legit ... but it could be the next BEST expansion the game has never seen!
So as long as you DON'T say "Cards Against Humanity" you are SAFE. That's the copyright/trademarked name ... everything else is non-official including my own "Cards Against Mankind"!

Note #1: They do say "Expansion" for "Cards Against Humanity" in the product description. But they also say "Requires the 'core' game of CAH"... So this too might be a work around. They are promoting the SALES of CAH core. Not 100% sure. But this might be the case...
