Hello everyone,
I've just joined and apparently this is the place to start.
I came to hobby boardgaming relatively late, starting about 4 years ago, but got bitten hard. I have a solid gaming group that play mainly medium to heavy euros (Agricola/Caylus/Dominant Species/Nations/RftG/...) plus a wider group of friends that regularly play more lightweight party games (Resistance/Secret Hitler/Deep sea adventure/..)
A few weeks ago I started looking at PnP games and thinking about boardgame design and very quickly amassed 8/9 ideas. Turns out ideas are cheap, right?
Anyway, just in this for the fun of it, I'm a physicist in my day job. Look forward to learning from everyone and developing some of my ideas into actual games...!

I prototyped my first one this weekend. Pretty simple pattern matching game. Had great fun tearing it to shreds with my girlfriend and building it back up again. It was playable, but only just, V2.0 is going to look very different.
Weighing up UKGE again, I think I probably will.. :)
