hi,
I started to think about a board game design. i´ve had it in my head for a time now, and I just started outlining the general idea.
i really wanted to join a community like this and its great that i found it.
Im looking forward to both learning what has gbeen done as well as receiving and giving feedback on ideas.
the game Im starting to create is an empire building game with economy system and some military aspect and a victory point system, from 2 to 6 players. And what has got me thrilled is that its gonna be set in Pre spanish Aztec times. Somewhere around the 1400 - 1500's, just before the spanish came.
XD
See you around here!
TY for the welcome.
Yea, it looks like a nice place to be!
The game has several elements from games i like, I felt like taking some features from games i love and create what i like best: empire building.
The game has elements from the age of empires video game in that you build structures in your city and develop a tech tree. It has a Dungeon Lords similar mechanic in that each player has his own board that represents his city and that you send your ambassadors to the central market on Tenochtitlan to obtain and sell resources. it has a similar feel to the civilizations video games in which you can win by culture, economy, science or military. And it has a combat feel based on a rock - scissors - paper game, like in infantry defeats archers, archers defeat cavalry and cavalry defeats catapults, sort of like the Tom Clancy's End War video game.
I have been outlining rules and components for about only a month, and just now I've been adding Aztec thematic elements and cards.
I'll start a thread soon in which I hope to get Feedback and maybe some help by posting what i got so far.
As in most cases, I imagine, the biggest struggle will be to get the artwork done, since I cannot draw to save my life. XD
Regards!
