I'm EXTREMELY new to game design, as in maybe about 2 weeks or so, although I've been a long time table top gamer. I had two separate and unrelated games come to me, practically in their entirety, within about a week of each other. That's never happened before... not even once.
So I'm working on designing and initial play testing for both, and I've been looking for info from *real* game designers out there and came across the forum a couple times. So I figured it's time I joined. I tend to be a lurker when it comes to forums, and since I have no experience and bring very little real world value to the table for something like board game design, I will likely be one here too. Not to mention, I haven't yet totally gotten over the whole newbie "hold your cards close to your chest" thing with talking about my idea(s). I realize from all I've been reading that game design theft is not really a thing for unpublished games, and that I shouldn't worry about it at all, but there's still a subconscious hang up on it that I'm fighting to get over. When I do, I'll start some threads and put my ideas out there, see what I can gain directly from all you *real* game designers. Me? I'm just a hack. ;)
Looking forward to learning a lot!
