Hello all! Here's a little about myself:
• My board game knowledge is actually quite limited because I don't play many. They generally aren't my style, but that's why I'm here! I want to make one I'd love to play.
• I prefer playing video games. I have my whole life. The problem is, I have absolutely zero knowledge in designing them (ie coding, C+, that jazz), but I figure that anyone (even me) can design a board game. That's what's so cool about them.
• Games I do play (that don't involve a screen) are Magic: The Gathering, Yomi, Puzzle Strike, and Flash Duel. I enjoy highly competitive, skill-based games. Chance is something I like to see designers reduce at all costs.
• I have an idea for a card game (that constitutes as a board game, right?) with a unique hook yet familiar structure. Problem is: I can't seem to make playing the thing any fun. So that's why I'm here. Maybe you guys can help instruct me. I'll be posting my concept in the appropriate forum soon.
Thanks for taking the time to read my "bio". GBDF seems like a great place to foster creativity and productivity, two things that'll improve any game.
