Hi!
My name is Alexander and I'm a Graphic and Product Design student from Brazil. I have always loved playing and making games.
I'm very interested in how boardgames can influence our minds and take us to other times and worlds. I like to research about how the rules represent and and indicate systems and themes of our lives.
In 2016 I won the Game Chef competition in Brazil with my game Focus, but lost in the international phase, so there's a thing, I guess.
I registered to this forum because I'm currently designing a cooperative boardgame as a project for my university, it's honorary name is Neighborhood.
In Neighborhood you basically construct buildings in a 4x3 square grid to gain resources to buy Qualities in order to fulfill some objectives.
It is still in an early phase, yes. Yes, I have been prototyping it. I would love to talk more about it in a further ocasion.
I guess that's it. Happy to find this forum and hope to make some friends and learn a lot :)
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm glad you liked the "neighborhood-building" theme! I think it's a fresh take on a classic and great thematic. I like the space-limited situation too, as it builds up some tension, making each little decision relevant.
As for the rules, I only have fractured chunks of them, but i'll try to post a draft somewhere around here as quickly as possible and make sure you see it.
