Expanding the range

So what happens after you make a game, go through the baptism of fire and eventually sell a few thousand copies?

Is expanding the product range the next evolutionary step?

Pocket Sports, as the name suggest, is calling for that very thing. For the first year and a bit, we sold Pocket Cricket. It did fairly well but like any sport, it's seasonal. Sales dry up for most of the year until it gets back into Cricket season and Christmas time.

We launched Pocket Footy, a game based on Aussie rules football, in May 2013. It has sold about 500 copies but hasn't quite had the welcome our first game received. Being independent and without a marketing budget to smash it in the media, it was to be expected.

The positive we have seen is now the double order from a shop or distributor. If they take a box of Cricket, they'll take Footy too. Stores that may not take one, might take the other......it comes down to choice.

we're now looking at pressing forward to widen the range of sports dice game we have. Golf & Soccer are the next two on the drawing board, with Ice Hockey waiting in the wings. I've managed to get the factory down to an MOQ of 500 games which saves on outlay and gives enough for a profit to be made, and room left in the living room!

I think it's all about the pressure you create for yourself.....crossing the Rubicon is sometimes the only choice!

Stay tuned for more updates
