Ewaso Lions is an independent non-profit wildlife conservation organisation based in northern Kenya (www.ewasolions.org). Our mission is to conserve lions and other large carnivores by promoting coexistence between people and wildlife. We are currently looking for an experienced game designer who can help us turn an idea/concept we have into a board game to help teach Kenyan children about local conservation issues. Our idea has worked very well in a different format (not just with literate kids but also Samburu livestock herders, mamas, elders and warriors). However, we feel we can reach a wider audience by translating it into the format of a fun board game.
Ideally, we are looking for a game designer based in the UK (we have staff based part-time in England) to enable face-to-face meetings as we are completely new to the world of gaming. However, we would still be open to considering designers with relevant experience from other countries. We can provide all knowledge on wildlife/conservation required, but would be especially interested to hear from anyone with experience designing wildlife / environmental games (although this is not essential).
If you are interested, then please do send me a message and we will be in contact with further information.
As we are new to this, we would also welcome any feedback/advice from other members of the forum in regards to turning an idea into reality ☺.
Many thanks in advance.
Heather,
Conservation Manager, Ewaso Lions
