I'm an ecologist turned serious game designer. That's both "serious games" and "serious designer." In short, I enjoy both learning science and doing science. I know that it's not for everyone, but I think there are a lot of people that would get more out of science if only it was presented in a better way, something more about fun, interest, and relevance rather than rote memorization and multiple-choice testing. so that's where I (hope) to come in. My goal is to promote understanding and appreciation of science through play.
My first game, Fire and Flora, is here. It's about 2/3 of the way through the design process. The next step is to try and build some wider interest in order to run a successful Kickstarter campaign. I've recently revised my website, and over the next month-or-so, I'll be doing outreach on behalf of the game.
Looking forward to trading ideas with you folks. Good luck to us all!
