Hi every one.
My name is Matt and I live in San Antonio, TX. Off and on for the past ten years or so I have been designing games in my spare time. I am both an instructor of graphic design at a local university and still a grad student myself, so lack of time has played a major role in me not ever finishing a design. However I seem to have actually done just that this semester… Well... Maybe...
I have been involved in the toy business on the retail side for several years now as my parents own the largest specialty toy store in town. Over the years I've done some time at toy fair so I'm familiar with the sales portion of the industry, but not so much the design and playtesting of games. (Clearly I am here to learn at the feet of you Sages.) Sadly I have never made it to Gencon although I was pleased to find out that PAX South was going to be here in San Antonio.
One reason I teach and can't work at a real design studio is due to the injuries I received to my hands several years ago. I have severe nerve damage in both hands making things very uncomfortable. Playing video games is pretty much a thing of the past for me, but thats where tabletop board games come in. Thats the great thing about games, they are such a great distraction from all the troubles of the world.
I look forward to meeting you all and learning from this community.
Thanks,
Matt
