? Information about a rare game

Hello all, I was hoping that you could point me in the right direction to find a game that I imagine must be rather obscure and rare...

On the show The West Wing, a reference was made to a classic Latin board game called "scorpo di asi", perhaps "scopo di asi"... I'm not quite sure of the spelling... I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of the game and could point me in the direction of a resource where I may be able to locate more information on it.

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer

Have you tried boardgamegeek.com? I did a quick search, but couldn't find it. They mostly have modern-ish (Industrial era.. ie last hundred years) stuff instead of classic/ancient. But if you could find a name it was published under it would probably be there.

Turns out the show had it wrong, its a card game not a board game. Scopa d'assi is a variation of an italian card game called scopa.

Know of any sites that tell about ancient games? Or any ancient games, for that matter? Roman age games, for example

Thanks for the help Andy

Funny, there's a new game coming out called Anathema that is announced to have been based on a game called Casino, and is also a card-capturing game. I haven't had a chance to see how the rules differ, but I wonder if Casino (of which I know nothing about) and our friend Scopa are related...
