Is anyone going to this or has attended in the past? I'm curious because I'm thinking about attending but the $1500 price tag seems a bit too steep.

I went last year...
I went last year and learned a lot. If you can afford it, I'd definitely recommend going at least once. You can make some good contacts, and learn a bit about the industry.
Having said that, I won't be making the trip back this year. As you said, $1,500 is a lot of cash.
