I am new to this forum and I was unsure if this actually got posted in this section of the forum, so if this is duplicated, I apologise.

I would like to know if I am able to use XXXX-opoly as a game name? Was usure wether or not using the opoly at the end was legal. The basis of the game is also similar to the original monopoly game but with diffrenet property names, cards, pieces, colours, ect.

I look forward to hearing your responses and thank you in advance.

Yes

Short answer is yes you can use the opoly suffix in your game name.

Read more about it in this thread:

Second, please don't cross post. Post once in the most appropriate forum. I assure you your post will be answered.

By the way, there is a game called "Necronomonopoly" which is a parody of monopoly in the setting of Lovecraft.

My apologies for cross posting.

Is that Necronomonopoly designed or approved by Hasbro? Does it have to be? I have a similar idea that would be using the original concepts of Monopoly but tweaking it out just as Necronomonopoly has done.

Thank you fo the replies, and once again, my apologies for cross posting.

XXXX-opoly

There's also "Illuminopoly", which adds an Illuminati twist... but that's just a set of rules, not a physical game.

XXXX-opoly

These board games are neither approved or need to be approved by Hasbro.

I suggest you contact www.Lateforthesky.com they are the leading "opoly" style board game manufactures, that insure that your board game doesn't have any copyright/trademark/patent infringements.
