Had another idea during a playing session my group had this morning.
Game is a card driven/racing/modular board game where the generic goal is to get your playing piece(s) from a starting point to a goal.
The cards will have three distinct uses. 1. As a straight movement card. 2. To inhibit/stop other players movement. 3. To keep other players from inhibiting/stopping your movement. As each card can only be used for one purpose before discarding, that eliminates the need for 3 different decks of cards to drive the mechanic.
My main question is on a modular board. I want to use interlocking tiles, perhaps along the lines of DoA, but want an interesting yet useful shape for them...perhaps triangular, perhaps trapezoidal. Suggestions/ideas/people calling me stupid would all be appreciated. This one has generated a flurry of great ideas from my game group, and I think it may go further than my garbage disposal idea (which started to look like anti Puerto Rico as I developed it more :? )
[ADMIN] I changed the title of this thread from "Another Idea". To all: giving your posts more descriptive titles will help people who are interested find your topic and be able to comment on it. -Jeff
ooooo me me, pick me!!!
how about this.............
say you have 3 players, each player gets 2 bits of map.
they select out of a "u turn" a straight and a corner.
player 1 places a road tile first, then the 2nd player etc until all bits are placed.
first bit in is start, last out is finish line.
hexagon sqaures (say four wide) and around six long.
small hex tiles are "hazards". get a stack and shuffle. randomly give each player a few, maybe 3 and then w/out looking at them place them on the board.
what are these tiles? these hazards? oil slick (-1 move) nitro (+1 move)
and maybe missles etc :P
hope this sparks ideas for ya!!!
