Well, here is my rule set for a new game called rush ball. I got the idea of thinking of all of the little movements and decisions, actions, etc. that go on in a single football play. I then thought of developing a game that would simulate a football play, but with no real goal (comleting the play would be considered 'winning') and actually playing the game would take forever. So I came up with the Idea of Rush Ball.
In rush ball two teams start out on opposing sides of a playing arena. Each team consists of four players, two blocking players and two speed or running players. Each team has a ball (or token as I refrence it in my notes) and tries to be the first to put the ball in the opposing players goal area. There are some rules (as to not allow players to cheat(also tell me if you can think of any holes I have not patched yet))
Please, tell me what you think, be honest, I need real feedback, hopefully I am going to play my first test game either tonite or tommorow.
EDIT: Maybe I didn't make this clear, but the rules are in the link provided below, in PDF format.
Its cool. Right now I just want to work on game mechanics. I will do the bg story later.
I compared it to football because that was my inspiration, even though there are blockers and runners, its more like chess/checkers/a rts/and an rpg.
