Hi!
I'm thinking of adding some short-duration timers for my war game. The premise is that players have 10 seconds or so to think of their move, and if they can't -- too bad, they can't move this turn. On a battlefield, people don't have time to think as the situation is fluid.
The problem is that I can't find any timers less than 30 seconds in duration, other than a 15 second timer which costs 6.95 Euro.
Where can I find a cheap timer?

I don't know what your electronics experiance is, but I imagine there is a way to bulid a simple timer made from radio shack parts or some such.
Press a button and a beep/or flashing LED goes off 10 seconds later.
Should be a fairly simple circut that wouldn't cost much at all, especially since the duration wouldn't change.
Might even be a kit or something. Or maybe a supplier that sells parts like this to be used in bigger machines/circuts...
Just something more for you to think about and expand you search options.
hey... googled this: Try here. It seems to be $6.95 for a package of 5... still a bit steep, but maybe you could contact them and bargain it down for bulk.

That's a possibility, but I'm trying to wean myself from all these electronic gizmos and stuff and make a simple game. A sand timer is more traditional.
