It sounds like you are making a game for a high school Current Events course.
"Search the web for news stories pertaining to X topic."
The hard part about making it a game is that the "results" of actions are usually played out immediately. For example, the following article title: "America bombs ISIS threat, and 30 buildings are destroyed". There isn't really much action there for a "player" since the actions/results have already taken place...
It is like you see an online chess.
You see players, board, movements.
Everything is connected together as a "game system".
We can see the news on the same way, but ...
How do you build the board or map ?
What the "players" must do to win the "game" ?
How do you translate the real world and the news into a working game ?
That is the big problem that I want to solve.
