I've been working on a space trading game recently, and it's nearly done - had a good playtest session yesterday that fixed multiple balance problems. In the game, you run a couple of ships that trade goods between planets. There are also missions to complete and ship upgrades you can buy. I've tried to keep the tone light-hearted and humorous.
My problem? I can't come up with a good name. Can anybody help? I've been impressed by the suggestions others have gotten with this kind of request, so I thought I'd try it.
Some sample game art is here, in case that helps show the tone and style of play.
I've thought of going with something obvious, like Space Traders or something like that, but that seems too bland. I've also thought of using some really cool star or galaxy name, maybe modified (Rigel, Arcturus, Cygnus, Orion) but none of those seems quite right. Any suggestions? I'd appreciate it greatly.
Thanks!
Thanks for all the great suggestions. Merchant of Venus would be awesome (love the Shakespeare), but that's already an Avalon Hill game with a significant following. I agree that something like "Traders over Orion" or some of the other cool place-name based ones would be neat - that's sort of what I was after initially, but it does sound more grandiose than the game is.
I'm trying out the name "Warped!" in my rules and in my head. I like that it's quirky - that fits the theme - and that it's apparently unused by anybody, according to BGG. What do you think?
