Hello again,

More then two years ago I have posted this :

http://www.bgdf.com/forum/game-creation/design-theory/building-game-base...

The idea was poorly explained, this is not a game or a news site.
This is a new concept that can change the way we see the political world, it takes us far beyond news.

I believe that now I have a better explanation.

Please tell me what you think.

Thanks,

Eran

So, this is actually a very interesting idea, but you describe it like a crazy person and laid it out like a conspiracy news site. There is a brilliant game idea here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it beneath the layers of cut-and-paste. Your pitch needs to be high concept, which is to say succinctly stated and easily understood by most people. A game needs clearly defined rules first and foremost, an exposition of the mechanics, not insight into the author's mentality and worldview. I don't see any overt references to reptile people, which is a great start.

Hi, Thanks for

Hi,

Thanks for replying.

First, I'm not a native English speaker so my level of English is not the best.

I'm trying to focus on politics which is indeed all about world control.
There can be many ways to describe how political actors seize power and use it.

This is not going to be a game but a "game like" description of political events.
There is no interaction between "readers" and the system.

Even now, I still find that your idea is pretty nebulous and not very well defined. When I commented on the previous thread, I thought I had a good understanding. However, I think you need to have some sort of visual representation of your idea before anyone can really judge it.

Okay, well, now you've lost me. No interaction means no game. It can't even be game-like if there is no form of play. Without that, this ends up looking like yet another conspiracy website where you personally have figured out the pieces that shape the world and everyone else has the passive role of being enlightened by you. Maybe performance art but definitely nothing resembling a game.

One innate problem with your concept is that games reflect social constructs, so it isn't much of a revelation to turn it back around and see politics as a game. That's why we have all of these incessant chess analogies for war and politics.

Thanks for the advises

Thanks for the advises, I will make some changes very soon.

Today newspapers represent the world using content description of isolated events.
You read text, it's all about writing the story.
Content is the king, same as in social networks.
The world is focused only with content!

Instead, You can represent the world using a grid : places, center, directions, positions.

Politicians move or advance to power position ( center ), they have more or less freedom to move ( open or close ).

They can can replace positions.
National interest is actually a INTER-REST
Inter = between places
Rest = Not moving

Super power like Russia will want to stay at power position or to prevent other nations from removing it from power ( inter rest).

You build a formal structure that can have political meaning.

This is how you change the way people experience the world.
Image based on text or image based on logic, dynamics, goal and conflict.

"News" is a very old concept belongs to the printing age, it's time to change it.
It's the job for game designers more then anyone else.
