Ok I am at it again.
I currently have a lot of ideas that I work on. This is of course both to avoid getting tired of a game before I even have a playtestable version for myself. Besides more ideas help me to think of fresh ideas and sometimes they end up mixing and matching in ways I hadn't imagined.
But today I am sitting with my notes on a police themed game and it is mostly done actually. At least to the point where I can begin to set up a solo test of it's mechanics on full scale.
However I keep refering to my game as: 'Police game' because I simply can't think of a good name. I have thought of a lot of names like: 'Police Quest', 'Police Force', 'First Responders' or even 'Blues and twos'
But none of them sounds right to me. Anyone's got any ideas?
The basics of the game is that players co-operatively manage the police force of a city (though only a section of the city is used for play) and they have to drive out and handle different police business on the streets. I have several encounter cards and the whole point of the game is that the players will have choice. Each encounter card will state a situation that the officers respond to and then the player will decide how to handle it.
The end game will trigger a massive event like a riot, a murderer that needs to be found or something like that. But 'Police Game' just sounds too boring.

Secondly, I have made my game for 2-4 players. That is a good number I feel but originally I had thought to have 6 players. So I have 6 player cards each with their own bonus. Should I include all player cards in the game for choice or stick to only the amount of players?
It makes a lot of sense to let players decide who they want to play rather than leave them stuck with the same cops every time. So I'll add them all, however the game will still be a max 4 player game due to the fact that part of the challenge is to decide what to respond to and if too many officers are moving around then I think the challenge will dissappear.
