Hi all! New to this forum here and I'm hoping you can help me out. I'm working on a potential game that I'd like to put on kickstarter in the future.

Simply question when it comes to naming the games an copyrights...is it okay to name a game that incorporates a label brand from a well known company? The company isn't in the gaming business so I'm under the impression that it's okay to use the name.

Sorry if this belongs in a different forum.

Thanks!

Most certainly not.

I am pretty sure this is NOT ok.
You mean you want to name a game something like "the settlers of the Coca-Cola factory"? Can't do, even if Coca-Cola is not in the gaming business. :)
You will summon a horde of lawyers.
If you like you can ask for help in the forum, just state your current name and general game idea, and someone will come up with the right title for you.

First question: Are you using

First question: Are you using the name BECAUSE it is a label brand from a well-known company, or is it coincidental?

There is a significant difference between "Apple Monopoly" and "Apples and Pears".

Not wise

A great deal depends on whether they bother to sue you. Can you afford the risk? It doesn't matter so much whether it's legal or illegal, if they have enough money, you're "dead." Ever hear the story of MikeRoweSoft? Guy started a web site by that name, Microsoft said stop; though it's unlikely they had a legal leg to stand on, he had to stop, because he couldn't afford court costs. (Or so the story was reported, I never tried to go to the site.)
