I am working on a new game whereby the players team up and fight against a common enemy. The enemy is a band of invading monsters, represented by a deck of cards (each card is a bad guy). Throughout the game, the monster cards from the monster deck are flipped over, one-by-one, and it is up to the players to "fight" these cards, essentially beating each one until the enemy deck is depleted.
Anyways, that is the very, very basic idea so far. My question is, does anyone know of any card games out there that have this sort of mechanic - where the the enemy is represented by a deck of individual monsters (or aliens, or soldiers, etc...)? I would like to do a little research on how other designers have utilized this mechanic. Ideally I would like to find an example where the enemy cards march out one at a time, i.e. every turn a new enemy card is flipped over, so that if you aren't keeping up with killing them, you could potentially have 4 or 5 (or even more) enemy cards out already.
Oh no is right! This sounds a lot like my idea for my game. Damn. Well have you played it? It's sounds really cool... but looks like it's gone fairly unnoticed?
