Hello all! I've been toying with this idea for my first actual real board game, I.e. not pnp. Anyways, I was thinking along the lines of "Orcs Must Die!". Look it up... Anyways, it's more of a third person defense game rather than tower defense. My idea involves having one to two players working together to defend or complete an objective. The maps would be top down grid based, with environments like a town, or a castle interior. Players would control a hero, who's role was customizable depending upon the gear and spells equipped. I am hoping for deep customization. Possibly persistent characters? Anyways, they'd face off against waves of enemies, or other objectives. Defenses would include towers, traps, buildings, and allies. I could either go with a loadout based style where you have a certain amount of slots open to add your defenses, or I could work on another idea. Overall, I'm excited but a little doubtful about this idea.
I could really use your guys input and ideas. Sorry for the wall of text :P
Misc. Ideas:
Enemies drop loot and crafting items
Modular boards
Expansions with new enemies, items, locations, and objectives
Not purely tower defense: some raid objectives, dungeon clearing, etc.
Etc.???
