I normally do Sci-Fi, but got bored last night and decided to make a fantasy game. Obviously what I came up with can have any theme pasted on it. I will just pretend that it is me designing a fantasy game.
Basically it is a small kingdom building game. Tiles get placed when you move onto a new zone. They are selected randomly and generate different resources.
There are 7 total cards in the game and they are actions. Each player chooses 2 of the available actions per turn. The actions are (with room for change):
Move: Move any number of units from 1 zone to an adjacent zone.
Build: Use resources to build various buildings (these allow you to hold more resources or exchange more for coins).
Upgrade: Use to up grade units with resources.
Gather: Peasants can gather resources from any controlled zones.
Populate: Use resources to build peasants (They are the only ones who can gather resources).
Trade: Trade a number of resources for the same amount of another resource.
Exchange: Exchange 1 resource for 1 coin.
The player plays his/her 2 actions and then exchanges then for 2 cards in the reserve. The other player then does the same thing. and back and forth it goes until the end of the game (I am thinking rounds, atm (VP will calculate at the end).
Combat is initiated by moving into an enemy occupied zone.
Combat would be based on CP and super simple. Peasants 1CP, Knights 2CP, Mounted Knights 3CP, Archers 1CP but shoot first. Add up CP and remove to 0 for loosing team the remaining CP worth of units are left in the attacked zone.
Super rough idea at this point. Here is the board. 12 x 12 quad fold.
Sounds fun! Let us know when you have more info on the units, buildings, various types of tiles, etc.
Are tiles going to be randomly setup, so each game will have a different layout?
There seems to be endless possibilities with this setup.
Yeah. I have a lot of possibilities. The 2 castle tiles will be the only thing on the board to start. As you explore you draw a random tile each time you go into a blank zone. That become permenant.
