Hi everyone,
I've been developing a nasty little game for over a year now. The mechanics are tile-placement, variable powers and some area-control. For the most part, players are placing Locations down on a grid that's getting more and more cramped, so screwing your opposition out of points is a big part of the game.
The game has a decent amount of strategy. Location bonuses and player Initiative (and therefore player order) changes from round to round, as determined strategically by players. In other words, it's not too light. I'd classify it as a heavy-light or moderate game (not for the kiddies).
The name I've been calling it for the last year is fairly lame and vanilla. I know Euro games don't typically go for crazy-cool names what with Puerto Rico and other "building" games named after locations, but I'd like to do something with a little "umph" to it. That's where I'm running into a major road block.
I need ideas! Any help would be awesome! A few words/phrases that I've been tossing around...
- Turf
- Turf War
- City
- City Planner
- burg
- borough
- moxie

Lighter theme. The city building is more abstract.
