Hi,
These week I'm toying with "filler games", trying to make some games I can play in 10 minutes or so, with my 8 years old daughter. I have 2 very simple but nicely working prototypes, based on card collection ( Moody Creatures ) and dice-drafting + card collection ( no name yet )...
Last night, I was drawing randomly on my half torn notebook and I started drawing tiles with funny pipeworks...
I thought that this could be a nice little game...
I have very few ideas so far, but here is what I have thought...
- The goal is to create pipe networks and get some water... more water than your opponents.
- A completed network starts on a common "source" ( a water reservoir ) and must end by a tap
- Tile-laying mechanic : a bag full of different pipes.
- A deck of cards : two values... 1. number of pipes you can draw / 2. number of water drops you gain at the end of the game
- on your turn, you draw a card... the card mentions how many pipe tiles you may draw.
- you draw x tiles from the bag
- choose 1
- put the others back into the bag
- place your tile
- keep the card you drew at the beginning of your turn. It will be used at the end of the game to count the water drops you have.
Some cards could have some effects of course...
What do you think of this little idea ?
On the BGG forum, two nice guys redirected me towards Waterworks and Pipeline... very very close to what I had in mind ! Too bad ! ^^
