In a new blog I've posted rules for a game I've been working on for a while. I'd appreciate any feedback. The official rules have illustrations and as soon as I master blog entry I'll post those.
TRADING PAINT is a press-your-luck race game that features bumper to bumper interaction with your fellow players. Your decision to keep rolling or pass the dice is based on more than, "Do you feel lucky today punk?" Now there is strategy involved. Should you stop short while you are blocking another player? Should you roll just one more time and try to slingshot around the lead car?
This is a simple, fast moving car race of twenty to thirty minutes, for two to four players, ages 8 and up. It uses stock car racing's most exciting actions: bumping (trading paint), slingshot drafting and blocking. Trading Paint also employs game mechanics that even up extremely good or bad luck, permitting the yellow caution flag to be raised and placing a few wrecks in front of the lead car. Unique among press-your-luck games, in Trading Paint when you bump an opponent you get to bank your rolls to that point, move your car and start rolling anew.
