I am in the process of ordering 60,000 8mm wood cubes from a German game manufacturer. I have to order a large quantity to get a good discount.

Is anyone here interested in purchasing 20% of my order, 1000 cubes in each of the following colors (12,000 total):

red, blue, yellow, green, white, black, purple, pink, gray, brown, orange, natural

I can't give you a firm price yet, but it looks like it will be about 2 to 2.5 cents each, including shipping to the U.S, so for 12000 cubes that would be around $240 to $300.

If you're familiar with places like spielmaterial.de and boardgamebits.com, you know they charge around 8 to 15 cents per cube, plus shipping, so here's your chance to get lots of cubes cheap.

Let's talk on #bgdf_chat

How many colours? What sizes?

I'm also interested in Settler's of Catan-style roads in a wide assortment of colours.

They are 8mm cubes in the 12

They are 8mm cubes in the 12 colors listed in the original post. I'm wondering if anyone wants to buy:

1000 x red
1000 x blue
1000 x yellow
1000 x green
1000 x white
1000 x black
1000 x purple
1000 x pink
1000 x gray
1000 x brown
1000 x orange
1000 x natural

I will likely be ordering 5000 of each color to get a good price (60k total), but I really don't need that many, so I'm open to selling several thousand of each color, but most likely I'll only sell them if you're willing to buy a set of all 12 colors. I don't want to get stuck with twice as many pinks as reds! :P

I may order SoC roads someday too, but probably not now.

Sure

I'll almost certainly be intersted in 1K of each of 12 colours. Grab me on #bgdf_chat for funding etc. If you're also up for SoC roads I may very well do a Bedi purchase in the very near future. I'd like to track usability for Muck&Brass, SpaceRace and a few other games.

To be honest, I'm not sure yet. I was thinking about waiting until the New Year for tax purposes, but if enough people are interested in going in on it with me, then I may just go ahead and order in the next week or two.

I'm still waiting on some numbers from the manufacturer.

My plan is to eventually self-publish, and with many of my games needing 100+ cubes, I can't afford for them to be 10 cents each.

Maybe I will, maybe I wont

I might be in for 12000 cubes (maybe even 24000), but I would like to know what it would cost to ship them back to Europe (Belgium). It would be more convenient to have this transaction after new year and not in two weeks like you were saying... I'll keep you up to date. (I presume that when you have a final price, you'll also keep us informed...)

Cheese!

I suspect it might be cheaper for you to order from bedi-spielematerial.eu, but shipping via UPS to Belgium will probably be about US$120 to US$150, approximately US$0.01 per cube, so the total would probably be about US$0.03 to US$0.035 per cube, not including any customs charges if required (which I don't know anything about).

Nice... I want some

I wouldn't mind getting a few thousand black, natural, gray, and brown cubes, although I can't make a firm decesion until I can see some pricing. Will you be ordering on demand? I mean, when we BGDFers want some more cubes, will you do a bulk order for us?

I do not intend to order on demand. I intend to make one order, at least for now. I guess I didn't mention it here, but I will only sell sets of all 12 colors -- I don't want to get stuck with twice as many pinks as blacks.

Shipping back to Belgium

I might be in for 12000 cubes (maybe even 24000), but I would like to know what it would cost to ship them back to Europe (Belgium).

If you order enough cubes, you could simply build a huge wooden boat from them and float them home to Belgium.

I'd be willing to get 12,000 cubes. I'm sure I could find a use for them :) Are you planning on PayPal for the payments?

Yes, I'll probably use Paypal for payments.

I'll get back to you all soon with a final quote.

I'll have to let you know if I need to sell another set. To be honest, I'd prefer not to deal with customs.

Also in Canada

I'm also in Canada... didn't realize it would be a problem for you.

To be honest, I've bought lots of items from the US, and it's no work at all for the shipper. If they decide any duties or taxes are owing, they simply charge the receiver upon delivery. All you do is fill out a small sticker at the post office (or, usually the people at the post office fill it out for you), describing the contents and the value.

Alright. I'll keep that in mind. I am expecting the quote tomorrow so I should be able to get the ball rolling in the next day or two. I'll let you know.

Final Quote for Cubes

FINAL PRICE QUOTE
FOR 8mm CUBES AND 25x5x5mm SETTLERS OF CATAN ROADS

OK, I received the final quote. Since I was able to order more than I originally intended, I was able to get the price down.

$225 (1.89 cents each) for 1000 sets of 12 colors of 8mm cubes => 12,000 cubes

$85 (3.5 cents each) for 200 sets of 12 colors of 25x5x5mm Settlers of Catan Roads = 2400 roads

Production Time: Within 10 – 12 weeks

Terms of Payment: either 100% now, or 50% down now and 50% with delivery + $15 fee (for the cash advance)

Method of Payment: Paypal

Send me your email address and preferred payment plan (100% or 50%/50% + fee) via PM and I will send you an invoice.

Regarding the Settlers of Catan roads, I hadn't officially asked if anyone wanted these, but since I received several inquiries about them, I decided to get 2000 sets, and will offer them in sets of 200 to anyone that wants them.

Hi
I'm after a few (perhaps next batch if you get more) but considering making a small batch myself to start - do you know what kind of paint/dye they finish them with or any tips for draining and drying.

Any suggestions very welcome.

My order of cubes and roads arrived today. Others should be recieving theirs soon.

I'm thrilled with the success of this process, the quality of the final product, and the professionalism of this user. (Name withheld only because it was never revealed in this thread).

Persons here at home kept wondering when the cubes would arrive, but there was no significant delay, all things considered.

Thank you to Games On The Brain for a wonderful opportunity.
