I am currently throwing my cap into the huge pile of caps that is the board game design community and I need some help and this seemed as good a place as any to start.
I am currently DIY-prototyping a game and it's going pretty well. It is getting to the point where I am thinking about the artwork so I can produce something a bit more official looking for non friend/family play testing and maybe even demo-ing.
I think it needs a bit more work before I commit to anything but I am trying to get some ideas about the next step and I really don't know where to start.
I don't want to make this post too long. I'm guessing interested parties may want to know the kind of artwork I am looking for. So as a starter; it is a family-orientated fantasy battle game where the protagonists are gnomes - emphasis on 'take that' type of humour. There is a hex board battle field (think Memoir 44), some miniatures for pieces, either a few cards or players map for each faction with faction abilities and a deck of cards to play on each other during the game.
I see the environment / theme of the cards and board to be some way a cross between Smallworld and Munchkins (Miguel Coimbra and John Kovalik) with the artwork accentuating the silliness and humour.
Not very informative but not sure where this post is going!
I realise I might be a little premature here but I feel a momentum that I want to keep going. I am still on the learning curve here so thank you for bearing with me.
