Hi,

I´m looking for a somthing like a "punch-machine", punch press or something similar to make standard components like small circles, suqares, haxagons out of cardboard.

I have found much press machines in craft and handmade shops but only fancy patterns but nothing like normal circles. Or something like a set of circles in different sizes but not a pattern with same sized circles, to punch out several ones in one step.

Do you have any idea where to find a manual press with these standard patterns?

I hope you understand my problem and my english as well :)

Best regards.

For single shapes

For single shapes, I found this helpful doodad on Amazon.

I'm sure you could find something virtually identical at a craft store, with the added advantage of being able to really see it before buying.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find exactly what you were looking for with any obvious search. "Paper punch machine" gives a bunch of office supplies to put holes into sheets for binding.

still searching

Hi,

thanks for the reply but these normal circle punches are not what I am looking for. To use these the cardstock must be quite thin and I can't see what I am exactly punching out.

I was searching for something like a "sizzix big shot" but I cannot find any useful pattern. Only motive ones, no patterns like circle or hexagons.

My prototype process looks something like this, I print my graphics on a A4 sticker, glue it onto cardboard and use a cutting machine to cut edge by edge. This works for square pieces but is slow and for hexagons its really much work.

What I want to do, is to use a press to punch out all tiles in one move, with a press like the one mentioned before. But I can`t find one.

Best regards

That looks promising

That looks promising, and they even offer to make custom dies that fit into their machine... though it's a contact form without a posted price.

HI, I do like the circles,

HI,

I do like the circles, but the hexagons are a bit big. Also, I wonder why I don`t found any of these in my (picture) search on google.

Has anyone such a press, or what are you using for standard tile crafting?

Best regards.

Picture search is probably

Picture search is probably not well suited for this.. I just went to their site. Type in hexagon in THEIR search and it’s fine.

Personally I just cut my stuff with a large paper cutter and then scissors where needed.. but I wasn’t making a ton of tiles. I probably would’ve just bought blank tiles, personally.

I have contacted a shop which

I have contacted a shop which sells the Bigshot punch press and I got the information that these punch presses for home using like the BIGshot are not able to cut 2mm cardboard. It cuts only thinner material.
The only option should be a plotter but have no idea how good a non-industrial plotter does the job and for how long.

I guess I am also going to use my paper cutter and scissors for the next projects.

Cricut Maker

Update:

Now I am using the "cricut maker" but so far, thin materials work well but materials with 1mm thickness or more do not work properly.
I have also bought the big blades but not used these by now and for the normal cutting I use cheap Chinese one as a refill.

I will make a cricut "How To" "soon" and share some of my "wisdom" and experience.
