Excited to say my family memory and bluffing game, Door Number 3, just got signed to Piecekeeper Games!
It's a lightweight game in which players are game show hosts, trying to budget their show efficiently while tricking their opponents into taking terrible prizes. Will you win a BRAND NEW CAR or get stuck with a goat?
Still a long road to publication (which would be end of 2018/2019), but thought I would share the news! This is my second game signed this year, and I'm hoping to get a 3rd (RELAXIMUS MAXIMUS) signed at the UK Games Expo in two weeks *cross fingers*. I mostly post playtesting tips and comment on other people's posts here, but thanks again to everyone in this wonderful community.
Now of course, back to playtesting to get ready for UK Games Expo!
What was the first game you had signed this year? I was looking to see if you had posted about it too, but I didn't find anything.
I haven't posted much about my own games, mostly just playtesting advice, but the other game I had signed is Mission Control (working title). The official announcement with a new title from the publisher is coming at UKGE, and I'll make a separate post when it's official.
It's a medium-weight strategy game – very different style and audience from Door Number 3.
In Mission Control, players are rival scientists at the International Space Agency, sharing control of a single rover on a distant planet. You'll work together to steer the rover, but compete for funding and influence. At the end of the mission, the most influential scientist the ISA wins!
If you're curious, it looks a little something like this.
More info on that one coming after the publisher announces!
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again to everyone in this community who's given me feedback. Also, just reading posts on here and thinking critically about games makes you a better designer, and has certainly helped me!
