hey there,
just a random idea out of the blue, but maybe there is more to it:
being a web-designer, i have access to a lot of artworks, designs and layout snippets. I am ok at game (rules) design as well, but actually I like doing card/rulebook (visual) designs much more.
Have you finished a game that lacks a decent layout?
Is there someone out there who wants to collaborate on a uncommercial/hobbyist base? If the game is appealing to me, I would coat it with nice art and layout.
The only two restrictions are:
1) Im limited to the kind of artwork that gonna be used. So I wont create everything from scratch but use the stuff in my library (i got full rights on it). This might require a re-theme.
2) No commercial or super-professional products. We could agree on free print-n-play and maybe put it up on the gamecrafter and share possible sales. But nothing with a enforced commercial goal behind it.
My name is Tobias, Im 36 and located in europe
Another idea would be to work together on a new game (i prefer games with cards, tokens and dice only - but not custom dice or big gameboard).
Here are some concepts that float around my head, and I have the art to support them:
1) WIZARD WORKER PLACEMENT
Players compete to build the biggest wizard school. Each player starts with a card that represents his wizard school - these schools come in 4-6 elemental varieties and are dealt randomly at game start. next, several magical places (also represented by cards) are dealt to the middle of the table. each turn, every player gains 1 new acolyte token drawn from a bag. acolytes come in 4-6 elemental flavors as well. add one acolyte to a magical place to gain 1 mana, add a acolyte of a matching element to gain 2 mana. spend mana to advance your wizard school or unleash one of 3 different magic spells that help you or hinder your opponent.
2) SKY ARENA
2-4 players battle in this miniature game that is played with cards. movement is simplyfied as all units are attached to a location card. Locations are Floating islands of various elements, units are fantastic creatures of all kinds and elements. units at the same location can battle or move to another location.
3) TANK WARGAME
uses cards to represent tanks and terrain. cards "move" across the table like in a miniature game. everything is measured in "lengths of a card (3,5")". dice would be involved as well of course.
well thats all for this quick sunday brainstorm!
