The Game Crafter - Custom Printed Game Components - Placard Mat

The Game Crafter is pleased to announce our new Placard Mat! This is a small 4" x 3" (102mm x 76mm) rectangular mat that works great for player reference cards.

Mats are printed on both sides and made of our standard 12 point 320gsm black-core matte cardstock. This makes them great for player aids and game play surfaces.

Hmm... This is just an "observation"

Although it's cool that TGC is offering this new smaller-sized Mat... This is just my own "personal" opinion ... Maybe TGC should do like their custom stickers which are mix-and-match???

What I mean is that you get a sheet (or half sheet) and then it's up to you to define the size of your Mat. It may SLOW down the production (in terms of speed) but it would SIMPLIFY GREATLY the amount of products available to purchase for a game.

And you can do it smartly: one full-sheet, one half-sheet, one quarter-sheet, etc. Much like the size of slugs for stickers.

Again this is just an "observation" ... That making more-custom-oriented Mats could allow the designers more options to create and fully utilize the size of cardstock (as explained full, half, quarter, etc.) to what they prefer.

I don't know if this is POSSIBLE. It's just a site idea... Cheers!

Maybe this could HELP too... IDK

I know this is Metric and you guys (and myself) work with Imperial sizes... But it's just something to illustrate the options that could be made available. Maybe you guys can work out an Imperial version of this kind of "generic" sizes that can be easily worked with.

IDK ... This is just an idea. Cheers!

Note #1: There are no "bleeds" on this version... Perhaps a "re-worked" version could include bleeds too... Again I'm not an expert on paper sizes (and not metric to imperial conversions)... I'm just offering TGC a suggestion of something they MIGHT be able to fully develop for their benefit and the benefit of their designer community.

Note #2: an A4 is "sort-of" like a 8.5" x 11" letter paper size. Not exactly ... But in any event. There are larger sizes and then there are smaller sizes too. It would be best if someone who KNOWS the actual "sheet" sizes make the calculations on how to DIVIDE up a larger sheet into smaller ones. This way you can properly account for BLEEDS and offer interesting alternatives.

Again this is just a site idea. Something to consider and see if it brings value to the TGC offering.
