NEVERA WARS: A DECK CONSTRUCTION CARD GAME, NECROMANCY HAS NEVER FELT SO ALIVE

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/563979601/nevera-wars

We are writing to announce we have launched a new Kickstarter for Nevera Wars, a deck construction card game set in the world of Nevera, featuring amazing illustration by Matheus Graef. Backers can get the full game for just $19 (including U.S shipping).

In the game of Nevera Wars players become the necromancers, constructing a deck of 36 cards and then summoning their undead minions to battle. Players can ascend their minions into more powerful forms and have access to a wide array of abilities to play in their own style.

We also have other exciting rewards for your support, including more unique original art by Marek Jarocki. We sincerely appreciate any support and sharing you choose to give.

Great start!

It appears as though you have attractive illustrations and a reasonable goal...it all points to a successful KS! Good luck.

Cheers,
Joe

A concern

Daniel,

A good sign is being funded within hours or at least the first 24-48 hours. You're not at the 50% mark after that timeframe, so you need to market the game with greater frequency on Social Media. I don't know how large, in the words of Jamey Stegmaier, of a following you created before launching, but it's a concern that everything else being equal (good illustrations and graphic art, accessible rules, and a reasonable funding goal, coupled with a low barrier to entry at $19 for the game), you should be funded by now.

Give it until after the weekend, but if you don't see a marked shift upwards, even after taking advantage of Social Media, consider cancelling, and retooling your campaign.

Cheers,
Joe

Hi Joe, Creating a following

Hi Joe,

Creating a following beforehand was definitely a huge challenge. I kept a weekly design blog that I shared around relevant places for months, I am a regular at game design meetups and my local game stores, only managed to attend one convention though.

But I even had a successful Kickstarter for a comic book last year (raised nearly $3,000) set in the same fictional universe as the card game, the backers of which I had hoped would jump on the new campaign (at least some of them). I even shared around the great game illustrations for months before the campaign regularly.

Building an strong audience before launch was something that really eluded me, despite my research and efforts. I think I struggled with how to make it engaging.

I'm a novice myself...

While I can give advice on game design and rules editing, along with play testing and feedback, social media is not an area of expertise for me. My friend and colleague with whom I've worked to have two games published thus far, Mike Strickland, certainly understands the nuances quite well. I would offer to you, based on the success of our two KS is provide content at regular intervals...be they graphic art or illustrations. Get your rules out there and post lots of pictures. People are attracted to images, not words.

I wish you luck in the days agead!

Cheers,
Joe

Hmm...

I've noticed that even rather (or relatively) inexpensive games are not doing as well as they should. Take "TradeWorlds" as an example. The base ("core" game) was offered at $29 USD including shipping. That's an insanely well priced game. We did ok with 1,000 backers - but still you would think that at that price point - we should have gotten 10,000 backers.

It was really a great deal! Even with the pre-orders of $34 USD (+$5) is still a real good price point for the game. I know there will be no way we can keep this amazing pricing for retail (because of the 50% markup)...

But just leads me to wonder that people are more interested in miniature games with all the extra minis, etc. Than they are in Board and Card Games. That's the impression that I get.

Cheers.

The changing landscape of KS

During the past few years, KS has been a bit corrupted by major companies (CMON) and even small publishers flooding the market with mini-laden games. I can't speak to the rules, but they are shiny.

Nevera Wars Card Game Kickstarter - Less than 48 hours remaining

We are in the final 48 hours for the Kickstarter of Nevera Wars, a fantasy horror themed deck construction game. It features horrifically gorgeous art and great mechanics that remove many of the barriers to entry of this genre.

It is also just $19 including U.S shipping. I would love for you to check it out and consider backing or sharing as we are so close to succeeding.
