So - when I wanted to self-publish I looked around to get the rules and a booklet printed. I was surprised at the cost of getting color printing done, so I decided to check options. What I found was a laser printer for $100. The SAMSUNG 300 CLP was what I found. For an extra $35 I got a complete set of toner cartridges. So, for $175 [after paper and shipping] I did my own printing instead of paying somebody else the $300 I was quoted.
Plus, when it was done, I still had this cool laser printer which I have since used to create a lot of great prototypes!
Last week, I finally started running out of toner, so I started scouring ebay for replacement cartridges. That's why I'm here today - I want to tell you about a customer service snafu and how it got resolved.
I found a company on ebay - FUTURESUPPLIES - where I got 3 complete sets of toner cartridges for my little 300 CLP for $72. That included shipping, me hearties! $72 won't even get me a single set at STAPLES.
Three days later two boxes showed at my door [taped together], each with a set. I wrote the guys an email letting them know two of the three had arrived. They wrote me back with the shipping invoice only showing one package. that meant I was short a full set. I wrote back the next day asking for a clarification - today I got an apologetic email letting me know they had checked the shipping dept, discovered the error and my third set left the building today!
Now THAT'S service!
You don't see that kind of service/pricing very often, so I thought I would share. Goodness knows we complain enough around here - I'm a firm believer that what's good for the goose is also good for the gander. When I get that kind of service, I like to let friends know about it.
Thought you might like to know.
Just sayin'. ;-)
No correction necessary, that's them. I just checked ebay for the printer itself - they're running $120-$170 now. Still a decent buy for the mileage. The kicker for me was the quality of print and the insanely great price you can get toner carts for.
