Hi there.
I recognize some old timers here, though I have been away far too long.
I moved out to the backwoods of Virginia and had dialup for a year. That wouldn't even let me GET to this site.

Now, I have the horrid WildBlue satellite connection, which barely lets me in.

I want to reconnect with you {waves tentatively}.

What's new? I see the monthly GDS is still going strong.
I like the new layout and I hope the evil hackers leave it alone.

Hey Mark Kreitler, you still here?

How about Scott Kuehn?

Welcome back

It's nice to see missing old timers return. Kreitler is one I miss from the old GDS regulars. But he's been away for several years. Hopefully he will return some day, like you. :-)

It's great to see you guys again! :)

I lost a lot of data when BGDF went wiki all those years back, and that discouraged me coming to the site for a long time. I popped on as a guest now and then to see what was up, but didn't do anything serious.

Looks like it's time to get back in the saddle, though!

So...what did I miss?

Welcome back

It's great to have you back on board. You missed a lot of hacking, which lead to this new site, but you also missed a lot of fun. Drop by the chat sometime so I can tell you some of the news, and try to get involved again in the GDS competitions. There are a lot of new entrants these days, I guess it's time for some of the old timers to give them a good fight. ;-)

How so?

You can get to archive.bgdf.com (which was the old wiki) and prior to that we only had a forums site (which you can get to via old.bgdf.com

Not sure where/how you lost the data unless it was do to hackers and badly timed backups.

No, no...it's my fault!

Hey Zzzzz!

It's been so long, I don't remember the details, but after the wiki went up, I was unable to get find my design journal entries. I don't remember if I was trying to transfer them out of the old bgdf or search through archived material transferred to the wiki or something else.

One thing I'm sure of: it was probably user error and not the fault of the admins. You guys have always run a great site and continue to do so. By the looks of it, the new BGDF is no exception.

I'm very excited to be back, and thankful that the site has such dedicated people behind it.

Now, if I could just think of a decent entry for this month's GDS...
