Instead of pressing "Reply", (in the lower right corner of the post you want to quote) press "Quote".
Whatever is between the opening and closing quote tags will be placed inside the quote box. So you need to write your comments *after* the closing quote tage.
In the problematic post (I just fixed it) you accidentally deleted the closing quote tag along with the text from the original message that you wanted to remove.
No apologies are necessary.
After all, at Lake Hell, things just have a way of going wrong. Sabotage is intended to be a part of the Lake Hell game, you know.
