Me No Understand...

Hey Folks-

I'm completely new here and see that things are changing, even before I can figure them out. But I'm finding one repeating issue and don't know if it's a site error, or if I'm just misunderstanding something.

I click on the "Getting Started..." button at the top of the page.
Works great. Takes me to that page.

Then I go to the "Game Design" link under To Get You Started.
Perfect. Takes me to an outline of content.

Then, I click on the "Design Process" or "Game Mechanics" links under the Game Design heading. And I get nothin'. It just reloads the current page. And all of the links on this page are like that, just reloading the page that tells me what all of the content is, but never leading me to the content itself.

Am I doing something goofy?

Sorry not all content has been moved over from the previous site.

Within the next week or two the majority of the pages should be migrated from the old server and those links you mentioned (that take you *nowhere*) should content content.

Welcome to the BGDF, Eddie.

You're not doing anything wrong, it's just that we're in the process of migrating the site contents from the old site to the new one, and some of the pages you're trying to access are not available yet. Once we finish moving all the content, the links will work as they should.

Sadly, we had some big problems with the old site, and we're doing all the work by hand, so we have a clean start on this new incarnation of the site. This requires time, and it's basically one person doing most of the work, with a couple more helping a bit. Hopefully, the process won't take too long. In the meantime, you can access the old site contents by clicking on the Archive link on the top right.

About those archives...

Welcome, Oinkaphone!

I'm guessing there will be archives of BGDFs v1 and 2? If so, will user content (such as blogs, etc.) going to be migrated over? Also, does this site recognize wiki formatting? I grew to love the formatting possibilities of the v2 site.

Edit: Nevermind. I just found the Markdown Syntax details. Old school!

Migration of old contents

Personal content like blogs, etc. will have to be migrated by each user. Contents from the wiki will be migrated by the admins, but will take a while (lots of content, few admins).

Site v2.0 can be found through the Archive link on the top right of the new site. Site v1.0 can't be seen right now, and I'm not sure if that is easily fixable. I'll let you know if we find a solution.

Building Out the Game Design Page

I've started copying some of the wiki information over from the previous site. I'm creating bold links where there's actually something to link to, which means the non-bold links don't yet go anywhere.
