There is a discrepancy between the My Friends Online list and the entire list of My Friends. The online list shows some one that is not on the general list. Has anyone else encountered a glitch like this?

I just have. You are not in my friends list (not that I don't want you to be, just that I haven't invited you yet), but you are on my Online Now list.
Even more weird, you are NOT listed as online on the Online users list.

Friends significance
Can I ask what the significance is to have friends on this site? Can you contact them that way? Its not that I don't want them, I'm just curious to know what they're good for(software-wise).

Friends
You can easily go to your friends profiles (from your My Friends page). On each user profile there's a list of his Game Journals posts and uploaded images. So having someone as your friend helps keeping track of some of his activity on the site.
In the future we might add other features like a quick link to send a PM, etc.
