Greetings BGDF users!
Just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Rhyan and I've always enjoyed board games. However, I never really knew about the vast majority of board games that were out there until a few years ago. After a buddy of mine convinced me to go to GenCon a few years back, my interests in board gaming definitely skyrocketed! However, my interest in game design didn't really come to fruition until Summer of last year.
I've always been an avid fan of Tactical Based RPGs on Video Gaming platforms, which is where much of my inspiration originally came from. So it wasn't until last August that I really started to work on a design that fits in several aspects of the tactical RPG theme, all while trying to keep the complexity of the game fairly simple. I've been fortunate enough to have many friends play test the game several times. The game design has definitely changed throughout the many months of play testing and is still in the works.
I started this project as one of the many ways I could enjoy my free time. It's definitely been fun, however challenging! My main goal was really just to make a printed prototype version for myself and leave it at that. However, several friends have convinced me to try to take it a step further. This is one of the many reasons I've come to BGDF! I find it wonderful that I have the opportunity to speak with other designers here in the forums.
