Howdy
A quick intro before I start posting and replying etc.
I am relatively new to board game design, a few home brew RPGs here and there and toyed around with some game designs, but nothing serious. This year I have decided I will attempt to finish a couple of those designs.
While new to design, I have been playing table top games since the early 80s, so have certainly played may fair share. Though it has to be said, while I have been gaming for a considerable time, I do find I haven't played nearly as many games as most...
Anyway, a little about myself. I am an artist at DC comics for my day job, also doing freelance concept design for the game industry at times. Along side the game design I will also be turning my freelance work toward the table top market as well as another avenue in to the industry.
In the past I have owned my own publishing company, primarily comics, but also focusing on IP development for other companies. So while I am new to table top design, development and publishing, I do have some experience in similar areas, just other fields, that I hope will help.
The current designs I am working on are relatively similar, one is something like a combination of an LCG (no easy task in itself) and a board game, the other being an investigative board game using a combination of pre action luck with cards, and post action luck for an enemy AI.
Ok, I'll stop waffling on now, I look forward to meeting and interacting with everyone, sharing any experience or advice I may have. Please feel free to drop me any questions you may have about anything I do.
Best
Neil
Once I get the hang of the web site and how it works, I'll be putting up everything I have so far on both projects... and a potential third.
I was thinking of using the game journals section for putting up what I have on the games. Is this the best approach or is there another place that would be better to post about the overall idea and themes for the games? Prior to the constant asking for advice I have no doubt I'll be doing ;)
Thanks again for the welcome, is much appreciated.
Best
Neil :)
