Hi y’all. My name is Mike Maza and I joined up because I’m really interested in the process of designing board games as most of you are I assume. I’ve been designing video games for over 20 years now but have been an avid fan of tabletop games since I can remember. I own over 200 games and the collection grows each month.
My family was poor and happy and some of our joy was directly attributed to playing games together. I am re-living that joy with my own family now and this has rekindled in me a need to create games that other people can enjoy. I believe some of the skills I’ve learned developing videogame mechanics can translate over to board game design. I was also a graphic artist for 10 years prior to developing video games.
I’m currently prototyping a co-op survival game themed around the story of 4-6 strangers crash landing onto a mysterious desert island. I have most of the mechanics penciled in and will start testing my prototype in a few weeks. Hoping this forum can help me through the process.
Sorry for the long intro. Looking forward to interacting with y’all.
