Hi good folks of BGDF,
I'm Dave and I've just founded a game design company consisting of... me.
I've been playing boardgames seriously for 25 years or so and had an epiphany 8 or 9 years ago when it occurred to me that, the game that I wanted to be playing but didn't exist, required me to create it!
I've just arrived at a stage in life where both kids are now in school full time, we can live on my wife's salary and I've finally got the time to devote to my passion.
I've two games currently somewhere in the development cycle, both have been play-tested, both need a lot of work.
Do I try and self-publish, or do I look for a deal with a company? The jury is still out.
I'm looking forward to getting involved on the forums and generally immersing myself in the world of game design, very exciting stuff..
Finally, I'm off to Spiel (first time - very excited) this week so if anyone fancies meeting for a chat/drink (they have bars there right?!) or are there with a stall with a game to play - drop me a line.
Thanks for listening.
Dave
North and South Games
Yes, one is based on the original discussion one New year's Eve many Yeats ago with a friend, the other from a Eureka moment a few months ago, took me 5 days to make a prototype and start playtesting.
Was hoping the latter could be developed to fund the former..
